The Santos Dumont reference 96054, referred to as the Extra Plate or Ultra Thin, was the precursor to the ref. 1576, and has become one of the most sought-after Cartier models. This model, circa 1980, is admired for its ultra thin case design and revered movement. The 18k solid gold case measures 27mm in width and only 4.2mm in depth. To facilitate this the watch houses a quality manual wind Frédéric Piguet cal. 21 signed Cartier. This example features its original Paris-signed dial and yellow gold deployment clasp.
